Dr. Kolbaba to Speak at the Wheaton Lions Club and Glen Ellyn Brookdale Senior Living Community in Glen Ellyn

Dr. Kolbaba will be speaking to the local Wheaton Lions Club for their noon meeting on November 1, 2016. He will review the motivation to write his book, Physicians' Untold Stories, and some of the private physician conversations that led to the publication.

The talk to the residents of Brookdale Senior Living will focus more on the miraculous stories included in the book and excerpts from stories that were not published. This engagement will be at 11:30 a.m. on November 3rd at their beautiful facility on 60 North Nicoll Avenue, Glen Ellyn. Dr Kolbaba's passion for this work is amazing and it shows when he speaks on the subject.  During his talks, people find themselves laughing and crying at the same time and leave with a renewed sense of hope and optimism.

Several other engagements are being scheduled including local book clubs and the Wheaton Public Library. Dates and times will be announced soon.

Physicians' Untold Stories Make An Appearance In The Naperville Sun!

As was mentioned in the previous blog post, there were two reporters that covered the September 22nd launch.  The first article to appear is from the Naperville Sun.  Dr. John Saran, a Naperville native and contributor to Physicians' Untold Stories, is featured.  Click here to read the article

The Book Launch Was A Success!

It's hard to believe that the book launch hosted by Northwestern Medicine at Central DuPage Hospital on the 22nd of September is already over.  To say it was a success would be an understatement in my eyes.  The event was from 3:30pm - 8:00pm and it seemed like the room was packed the entire time.  At the end of the launch, the final tally for book sales was over 500 copies. This will benefit the Pediatric Family Assistance Fund which helps support the children at our local Ronald McDonald House, among others !  Then there were the donations.  Many people came prepared to help with this cause and the final count for additional charitable donations was over $10,000 making the launch's total contribution to charity over $14,000!  It was also great seeing many of the other physicians featured in the book get a chance to be in the spotlight.  They were giving out autographs almost the entire night!  The Naperville Sun and the Daily Herald were there to take some pictures and the article in the Naperville Sun has already been published.

What made the evening so special though, was the fact that it was not just about me.  It was great seeing people come from all around the area to support the other doctors featured in Physicians' Untold Stories.  This work isn't just mine.  I was fortunate enough to compile these amazing true stories into one book.  The other 26 doctors finally received their recognition during the launch.

It has been heartwarming to see these stories getting into the hands of people who really need a motivational or inspirational boost in life.  Hearing the readers' own stories every day is one of the special rewards for me!

The Book Launch Is Finally Here!

It's hard to believe that it's finally here! Physicians' Untold Stories started nearly 4 years ago as a 6 month project!

Our pre-launch reviews have been incredibly positive and very rewarding.  We are already getting some very heartwarming feedback.  One woman, who was saddened over the terminal illness of a neighbor found the book so inspiring and reassuring that she purchased a copy for her friend.

One of my doctor contributors told me that even though he knew his story very well, he was still moved to tears after reading it again.

I am constantly amazed by the doctors who have contributed.  My editor called them the "noble" physicians. I look forward to seeing most of them at the launch.

I hope you enjoy the read!

THE BOOK IS COMING SOON!

Scott J Kolbaba MD in his hometown office in Wheaton, Illinois

Everything in this book is true. It required three years and over two hundred physician interviews to collect a series of stories that satisfied author Scott Kolbaba, MD’s criteria for admission; they had to bring the listener to tears of awe or cause shivers down the spine.

What is unique about this book is that for the first time, a large number of physicians came forward with experiences so miraculous that most have been concerned about telling anyone for fear of criticism.

Dreams foretelling future events, apparitions and other miraculous experiences fill this book, as practicing doctors recount the most unusual moments of their careers.

Physicians’ Untold Stories doesn’t stop at chronicling these occurrences.  Dr. Kolbaba provides a glimpse into the lives of doctors that few get to experience.  Learn their agonies and joys.  In their own words, doctors reach out to you and show you how faith in a higher power has shaped their lives. Even in the darkest of times, as they comfort terminally ill patients and make impossible choices, moments of light shine through.

Like the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series, Kolbaba has catalogued inspirational moments into small stories perfect for bite-size reading—or maybe for gobbling up all at once!
